Projects like this are quite rare, so you can imagine that we were very excited to have the opportunity to brand a City and work closely with the team at Chelmsford City Council to produce a modern, forward thinking logo, that encompasses the values of the newly appointed City.
The brand mark consists of four elements:
Top Left Quarter.
This represents Chelmsford’s history. It is an abstract depiction of both the bridge represented in the city’s coat of arms & the city’s cathedral arcs. Both of which have been featured on documents & paintings throughout Chelmsford’s history.
Top Right Quarter.
Symbolises over 1700 acres of beautiful parks and rural areas within Chelmsford including Hylands House & Park.
Bottom Left Quarter.
The four river’s of Chelmsford, the River Chelmer, River Can, River Wid and the River Crouch.
Bottom Right Quarter.
Chelmsford’s historic link to Marconi and the proud birthplace of wireless.
We are still working with Chelmsford City Council (developing the identity and brand guidelines) and are very much looking forward to seeing the different applications across our home City.
